..... New Jersey-based Dynarex Corporation has expanded its recent baby powder recall to include more products due to asbestos contamination, the Food and Drug Administration reported.
..... The recall, originally issued on September 18, 2024, now affects 35 states and includes an additional 373 cases of 14-ounce bottles Dynacare Baby Powder and 647 cases of 4-ounce bottles of Dynacare Baby Powder.
..... Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that is often found near tale and is an ingredient in many cosmetic products.
..... The product was sent to distributors in 35 states. including New Jersey, and sold Online at Amazon.com on or after January 18, 2024.
..... Consumers who purchased the product with item number 4875 or 4878, batch numbers B 048 to B 060, are urged to discontinue use immediately and return it for a full refund.
..... The baby powder 4875 is packaged in 14-ounce plastic bottles, 24 to a case, and the baby power 4874 is packaged in 4-ounce plastic bottles, 48 to a case.
..... The recall was the outcome of a routine check by the FDA.
..... The company has halted all production of the product and continues to investigate the contamination. No illnesses have been reported to date.
