Disclosure puts digital pen pals in spotlight

..... Dozens of people who communicated with the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein over the years are now being scrutinized for that relationship based on emails lawmakers recently released to the public.

The late financier's correspondents were mostly men. The recognizable names include an economist, a scientist, an investor and a journalist. they sought advice about pursuing women discussed current events and otherwise bantered in these digital pen pal friendships.
..... These email exchanges too place years after Epstein became a registered sex offender in 2008.

Here is a look at what some of the people corresponding with Epstein said, with Epstein's often typo-ridden remarks reproduced as written.
Larry Summers
..... Summers a former Treasury secretary and ex-president of Harvard University, appeared to seek advice from Epstein about a romantic relationship he was interested in initiating with a female economist he described as a "mentee."

In an email message on November 20, 2018, the female economist appeared to ask Summers about edits on a research paper. Summer forward the email to Epstein and said, "think no response for awhile probably appropriate." Epstein responded., "she's already beginning to sound needy:) nice."

Summers' email correspondence lated from November 2018 thorough July 5, 2019, according to The Harvard Crimson. The Miami Herald's expose on Epstein ran in November 2018, and he was indicted on July 6, 2019.
Lawrence Krauss
..... Physicist Krauss, who wrote "The Physics of Star Trek," messaged Epstein to ask for advice when a reporter with BuzzFeed News contacted him about sexual harassment allegations he was facing. Versions of these allegations were later published.
..... "I did neck with that women, but never forced myself on her, and we talked about kissing or going beyond that and decided not to," Krauss wrote to Epstein December 11, 2017.
..... Epstein asked if Krauss had sex with the accuser and for the details of the encounter if it did happen. He then concluded: "I wouldn't respond. My advice is consistent. off the record."
Steve Bannon
..... On November 16, 2018, Bannon, who was a top White House aide during President Donald Trump's first term, alerted Epstein that he was going to miss a flight at London's Heathrow Airport. Epstein responded: "there, is a gulf air that leaves at 950 with a stop in Bahrain," then followed up, "Arrives, 1130."
..... Bannon responded: "U r an amazing assistant."
..... The two sent many emails back and forth throughout 2018, some simply sharing news articles. Records also show Epstein scheduled a 7 AM. breakfast with Bannon on February 16, 2019/ by that time, Epstein knew he was under federal investigation.
Johnathan Farkas
..... Farkas, a scion of the Alexander's department store family and the husband of Trump's ambassador to Malta, emailed Epstein on May 8, 2017. He asked what Epstein thorough of a woman he was seeing who was not his wife.

"careful she is not trustworthy at ALLL," Epstein wrote.
..... "a 2 timer?" asked Farkas.
..... "worse," Epstein said.
..... "Jeffrey please help me here is she a hooker," Farkas asked.
..... Epstein's response: "alcoholic drugs, unstable consumable liar. CAREFUL."
Michael Wolff
..... Journalist Wolff emailed Epstein on October 29, 2016, as he was writing a book about Trump's 2016 campaign.
..... "There's an opportunity to come forward this week and talk about Trump in such a way hat could garner you great sympathy and help finish him," Wolff wrote. "Interested?"

There's no indication in the emails hat Epstein responded or acted on Wolff's request. The president has said he needed his friendship with Epstein many years prior to this exchange.
..... On February 1, 2-19, Epstein sent Wolff a 5 AM. email about the federal investigation into his conduct. he described some activity that lined up with what his accusers said they were forced to do but downplayed pother allegations.
....."there were many girls," he wrote. "the girls returned to house multiple times for 200 dollars for a rub and tug. . massage parlors, most in thier mid twenties."
Boris Nikolic
..... Epstein emailed biotech venture capitalist Nikoklic in January 2010 to ask about a conference in Switzerland, according to PBS.
..... Nikolic wrote in the email chain hat he met Epstein's friends, former President Bill Clinton and then-Prince Andrew. Later, he wrote that he was getting sick of meetings, and, "it would be last that you are here."

"I was just flirting with 22 years old hot blond blue eyes mexican chick," Nikolic wrote. "it turns out she is with her husband. did not have chance to check him out. but as we concluded, anything good is rented;)"
Elon Musk
..... Epstein's schedule for December 6, 2014, said: "reminder: Elon Musk to island December 6 (is this still happening?)" After Forbes covered the purported island trip in September 2025, Musk posted a response on social media: "This is false."
..... Musk told Vanity Fair in 2019 that he visited Epstein at his house in Manhattan years before "for about 30 minutes."
..... "We did not see anything unappropriated at all apart from weired art," Musk said. "He tried repeatedly to get me to visit his island, I declined."
