WAYNE - Drivers will face detours for the next several months as crews build sidewalks and upgrade storm drains along Oldham Road. The $12.8 million reconstruction project, which also includes new curbs and the installation of three traffic signals could take up to a year and a half. The work was funded through state grants.
..... The project will span the entire mile-long stretch of the Passaic County road between Central and Preakness avenues. The rod provides access to county landmarks, such as the police academy and Preakness Healthcare Center,a 406-bed nursing home. it is also the primary means of getting to Passaic County Technical Institute, the largest high school in the state. Lindsy Reed, a county spokesperson, said officials will confidante with local authorities to reroute motorists. "We anticipate that there will be impacts to traffic flow during school hours," she said on August 6, [2025] "but we will make every effort to limit negative impacts."
