FAA bans flying of drones in several New jersey towns

..... The Federal Aviation Administration has banned drone operations in several areas of New Jersey until Jany 17, [2025] citing "special security reasons," The restrictions effective December 18 [2024] prohibit unmanned aircraft systems from operating within 1 nautical mile of specif location.
..... The temporary flight restrictions apply to:
* Hamilton.
* Bridgewater.
* Ceder Grove.
* North Brunswick.
* Metuchen.
* Eversham.
* Camden.
* Gloucester City.
* Westampton
* South Brunswick.
* Edison.
* Branchburg.
* Swaren.
* Jersey City.
* Harrison.
* Elizabeth.
* Bayonne.
*Winslow.
* Burlington
* Clifton.
* Hancocks Bridge.
* Kearny.
..... When asked why those towns were included, the FAA deferred to the Department of Homeland Security, which could not immediate be reached for comment.
..... The restricted airspace extends from the ground to 400 feet, the maximum altitude for recreational drone operations under FAA rules.
..... Restrictions previously in place for Bedminster and Picatinny Arsenal remain unchanged.
..... The FAA said drones that violate the restriction may face several consequences, including the use of "deadly force" if they pose an immediate security threat. Pilots operating in restricted zones risk being intercepted, detained and questioned by law enforcement. administrative actions, such as civil penalties, certificate suspension or revocation, and criminal charges, may also be pursued.
..... The restrictions were communicated through Notices to Air Missions and are viable on FAA resources like the Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability and the B4UFLY app, which are popular with recreational drone pilots
