..... More than 50 million pounds of frozen corn dogs and sausage products have been recalled because they may be contaminated with pieces of wood.
..... The Hillshire Brand Company, a subsidiary of Tyson Foods, issued a voluntary recall on September 27 [2025] for more than two dozen products sold under its State Fair and Jimmy dean brands, according to a recall notice from the U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service.
..... The affected products include corn dogs on a stick sold under the State Fair brand and pancakes and sausages on a stick sold under the Jimmy Dean brand. The items were produced between March 17 and September 27 [2025] and sold Online and at retailers nationwide.
..... Tyson Foods said in a statement that it issued the recall "out of an abundance of caution" and no other State Fair or Jimmy Dean brand products are affected.
..... The products that have been recalled have establishment number "EST-582" or "P-894" printed on the packaging. They can also be identified by their use by/sell by date.
..... According to the recall notice, the affected products may be contaminated with pieces of wood embedded in the batter.
..... The Hillshire Brands Company received consumer complaints, including reports of injuries from the products. After investigating, the company believes wooden sticks entered the production process before the products were battered.
..... The items were sold Online and at retail and food service locations nationwide. They were also sold to school districts and Department of Defense facilities, according to the recall notice.
..... Anyone concerned about an injury should contact a health care provider.
