Izod, Van Heusen closing all of its stores

..... The latest chain to take a hit from COVID-19, apparel retailers Izod and Van Heusen,are closing for good in 2021.
..... PVH Corporation, the parent company of Heritage Brands, which includes Izod Heritage Brands, said it is closing its 162 outlet stores and reducing its office workforce by about 450 workers, or 12%. One of its offices is in Bridgewater.
.... Izon and Van Heusen have outlet stores in Tinton Falls, Jackson, Green Brook, Elizabeth, Gloucester, Lafayette, and Atlantic City. The stores are expected to operate through mid-2021, the company said.
.... "we did not take these decisions lightly, as our Heritage Brands Retail business is our oldest retail business yet no longer net appropriate return matrices," said Manny Chirico, Chairman and chief executive officer at PVH.
.... The closures are "strategically important," said Stefan Larson, the company's president.
..... "The COVID-19 crisis is dramatically reshaping the retial landscape in ways that we believe will be long-term in nature and far-reaching in terms of consumer purchasing behavior," he said in a statement.
..... The coronavirus pandemic is delivering a gut punch to retailers. Earlier this week, [07/14/2020] the parent company of women's apparel retailer New York & Company filed for bankruptcy protection and said it could close all its stores.
..... Other brands have suffered,too including lucky Brand, J.C. Penney, Brooks Brothers, Tuesday Morning, CNC and J. Crew, which have all filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
