..... A breakthrough melanoma vaccine is generating excitement among doctors and patients alike. but one of the biggest questions people are asking after the latest news is whether Moderna's cancer vaccine is already approved and available.

..... Moderna and Merck announced this week [08/20/2026] that their personalized mRNA melanoma vaccine met key goals in a Phase 3 clinician trial, reducing the risk of the cancer returning or spreading when sued alongside Merck's immunotherapy drug Keytruda.
..... Keytruda, also known as pembrolizumab, is an immunotherapy drug hat helps the immune system identify and attack cancer cells. In the trial, the personalized Keytruda, with the combination showing significant improvements in preventing melanoma recurrence and spread compared with Keytruda alone. The Phase 3 study included more than 1,100 patients with high-risk melanoma whose tumors had been surgically removed.

The results mark a major milestone for cancer treatment and mRNA technology, but the vaccine must still complete the regulatory review process and get approval from the Food and Drug Administration before it can be widely offer to patients.
