Passaic County considering these sites for grants

..... Passaic County officials announced more than $3 million in grants for park development and historic preservation projects.

Set to be finalized by the Board of County Commissioners following a public hearing in September, [2024] the grants are due to help fund projects in 14 of the county's 16 municipalities. Awards at Hershfield Park in Pompton Lakes and the baseball fields at Dotterwich Field in Wayne to $250,000 for Wayne's restoration of the Van Duyne House.
..... Funding for the 16 projects comes from the county's Open Space, Farmland, and Historic Preservation Trust Fund Program. Established fol;lowing voter approval in 1996, the program aims to create a network of protected open space, enhance the natural environment and preserve historic and recreational resources.

The grant awards have been recommended by the county program's advisory committee, which reviewed a pool of applications from municipalities and nonprofits. There are set to be finalized September 10 [2024] at 5:30 PM. at the County of Passaic Administration Building.

* North Haledon: High Mountain Middle School Playground Rehabilitation - $225,000
* Paterson: Multi-Park Improvement - $200,000.
* Pompton Lakes: Hershfield Park Improvement Phase II - $100,000
* Pompton Lakes: Pompton Lakes Library Exterior and Interior Restoration - $100,000
* Prospect Park: Hofstra Park Tennis, Basketball and Pickleball courts Project - $225,00.
* Ringwood: Stonetown Turf - $225,000
* Totowa: Washington Park Playground Project - $193,763.14.
* Wanaque: Laurie Field Improvement - $225,000.
* Wayne: Little League Turf Field - $100,000.
* Wayne: Van Duyne House Restoration - $250,000.
* Woodland Park: Thomas E. May Femoral Park Improvement - $225,000.
