WAYNE - Officials at William Paterson University have launched a series of monthly meetings for entrepreneurs interested in expanding heir networks.

Each gathering will feature a guest speaker who will address a timely topic by sharing insight for business growth.
..... The first session on September 30, [2025] was expected to include a presentation on "entrepreneurship and Intellectual Property in the Age of AI" by Matthew Sklar, a partner at McCarter & English, a law firm with offices in eight states and in Washington DC.
..... The meetups will be on the last Tuesday of each month in the student lounge at the university's Christos M Cotsakos College of Business at 1600 Vally Road.
..... University officials said the sessions are geared toward aspiring business owners, stat-up founder and students.
..... The initiative is a collaboration among the Center for Socially Responsible Entrepreneurship and innovation, established by the business collage four years ago; the New Jersey Small Business Development Center at the university; and the Passaic County division of Economic Development.

Sarbjeet Rayat, the director of the entrepreneurship and innovation center, said business leaders will learn from one another at the sessions. "Entrepreneurs thrive when they're part of a community," he said. "Our mission is to help bold ideas become real-world solutions that advance profit, people and the planet."
..... Pat Lepore, the director of he county Board of Commissioners, said the collaboration is part of a broader effort by the county to boost businesses. "Passaic County is full of entrepreneurial energy," Lepore said. "We're proud to support initiatives that connect and empower business owners."
.... On September 17, 2[205] the county announced a separate partnership with the university in which graduate students are researching marketing strategies for local businesses on behalf of the township.
