Adidas to open soccer-themed store at American Dream

..... The athletic goods chain Adidas will open its first soccer-focused flagship store at the American Dram megamall in the Meadowlands ahead of this year's [2026] FIFA World Cup, which will be played at nearby MetLife Stadium, the mall's owners announced on Friday January 30. [2026]
..... American Dream owned by Canadian developer Triple Five, is the second-largest mall in the country and is adjacent to the stadium, which will be hosting eight World Cup matches, including the final on July 19, 12026.
.... The Adidas store will offer an :immersive, soccer-driven retail experience that spotlights the sport's culture through premium footwear, performance apparel, and exclusive collections," said a statement form the mall.
..... It also, "celebrates the global passion for soccer," said American Dream Chief Marketing Officer Adam Petrick.
..... "This opening reinforces our commitment;s to bringing iconic brands and culturally relevant experiences to our guests, especially as the world turns its attention to the global game," he said in the Friday [01/30/2026]
..... The mall also offered different kinds of activities - including restaurant discounts, matches and fan meet and greet for such sporting events as the FIFA Club World Cup and the WWE SummerSlam, both held at MetLife Stadium in the summer of 2025.
..... "We're coming off a great summer of soccer at American Dream, and we want to keep the momentum going heading into the World Cup next summer," [2026] Gregg Schwartz, a mall spokesperson who also handles sports programming at the mall, said in a 2025 interview.

Upgrades fro the World Cup

..... State officials are also eying how the mall can handle World Cup crowds.
..... In October, [2025] the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority,, which owns the land on which MetLife Stadium and American Dream sit, approved nearly $800,000 in spending for structural work on and near the parking garage at the megamall.
..... The bulk of that spending - $590,000 - will be used for structural reinforcements and related improvements at parking deck A in the mall and entertainment complex.
..... The agency previously approved a contract worth $33.5 million for a new pedestrian bridge near MetLife Stadium.
..... That second pedestrian bridge will be immediately to the north of the existing one, between Meadowlands Parking Lot C and American Dream Parking Garage A, crossing Route 120 at the MetLife complex.
