2. Wayne police alert residents over car thefts:
..... There have been several recent motor vehicle thefts in Wayne and surrounding towns. Many of these vehicles are high end cars that require a fob to operate. Most of the vehicles stolen were left unlocked with the fob inside. Thieves are targeting residential neighborhoods and trying door handles on the vehicles they want to steal out of driveways. After they were stolen, some of these vehicles have been used in shootings and other crimes. Residents should be aware that these thieves are quite possibly armed.
.... The Wayne Police Department is asking residents to remove fobs and keys from vehicles and to lock the doors. Residents are also asked to call the police in the event they observe suspicious activity.
